Stress Management

“Stress management” has become an important aspect of everybody’s life style.

What is stress? What is stress level and how to manage stress? These questions are now very well answered and in this blog, I would like to provide some important and useful tips on “STRESS MANAGEMENT”

What is stress?

There may be many definitions of Stress but in simple words Stress means some discomfort at mental status. Any activity if done at high level of stress may lead to dissatisfaction and or failure.

In other words – “A dynamic condition in which an individual is confronted with an opportunity, constraint or demand related to what he or she desires and for which the out come is perceived to be both uncertain and important.”

Stress has been normally considered as a negative context, however it has many positive values too. If he or she has no stress at all (if stress level is zero) than what should we call it? Is it a good condition for an individual? Is it a healthy condition in medical term? No. Every one should have certain level of stress to do activities in right perspective. For example if you have been given some job in your office and your stress level is zero. Than you would not care for any consequences if job is not done as required. Carelessness is a sign of low level of stress or zero stress. Similarly high level of stress may lead to other physical complication e.g. high BP, high pulse rates, high heart beats, Burn out and / or Brain hemorrhage etc.

Therefore it is obvious that every success has been achieved with certain required level of stress.

And most importantly, managing level of stress in our mind with different activities is called Stress management.

I would like to ignore “Types of stress here in this blog because many of you may be more interested to know steps for managing stress.

Before we discuss on these steps, lets know what can happen if stress gets out of control?

Excessive level of stress may occur for short term or long term. In both conditions high level of stress nay lead to –

  1. Fatigue and Exhaustion condition.
  2. Depression.
  3. Burn out
  4. Or Break down

All these conditions may happen gradually with anyone who does not control high level of stress. Burn out and Break down may further lead to Brain hemorrhage causes death.

Therefore one should always be careful about stress level and short term excessive level of stress must be managed immediately to avoid severe condition of Brain.
